I started hoogetech in 2003 as a web design company, until I had a very real observation; I am not creative!  I was also always more interested in the technical side of web design, so eventually turned this "company" into a web hosting and management side project.

You notice I use the word company very lightly in these parts for a number of reasons.  One, this is not my day job, nor does this pay the bills.  In fact, if you want to get technical, I have lost well over a few thousand dollars on this project since it's birth.  To be honest, I would not have it any other way.

I do this as a labor of love, and thats why I believe hoogetech stands out above the rest in the free hosting world.  I care about what I do and I do it because I like it.  Individuals in the free hosting community will always ask the obvious questions, such as "how can you continue to run, if you don't force ads on customer's webpages?".  Answers to these questions are simple; I have something that goes far beyond dollar signs; love for this project.  Thats how this "company" is ran.  And I have been doing it this way for years and do not have any plans on turning back.

So if you'd rather go for a fly-by host that looks at you as a dollar sign or an account number, by all means there are plenty of those out there.  But if you'd rather have personalized, old-fashioned style web hosting that cares about your site and its success, you have come to the right place.
